What students love
“You can really see the care that went into this. Being able to take something as complex as Chinese history and make it digestible without oversimplifying it is a real skill. MIT students are lucky to have classes like this. Such courses are rare now, very precious.”

“This course is so interesting, even for me as a Chinese person. It gives me a new, relatively objective perspective on the historical development of my own culture. I found it via a translated video on Bilibili and came to YouTube to support the original. It's a fantastic course, I hope to see all the lecture videos updated.”

“You’re the FIRST DUDE I’ve seen modeling the Ming Dynasty with PDEs—seriously impressive. So basically: The Ming is a boundary-driven harmonic system, maintaining equilibrium via internal redistribution, while the “error term” accumulates until the solution blows up?”

“Thank you very much Tristan, you made Chinese history much clearer for me. I didn't want to learn it in my history class when I was in China, but your lesson was so interesting to listen to.”
