What students love

The 'demonstrated interest' point is so underrated. My younger one visited campus, emailed professors, went to info sessions, and got into 3 of her top 5. It matters way more than most people think.

I got my B.A. in Psychology at Clark in 1997 and learned just as much outside of the classroom due to the sheer number of service-based organizations I was in. Clark was forward-thinking.

For the first two years I worked as a Research Assistant and the last two for work study, we were allowed to work in the local community, so I did at the A.L.L. School (elementary).

97% of the professors had their PhDs so you knew you were learning from the best. I absolutely loved my experience there.

I did a masters and PhD there in Geography, which in my view, is the most important discipline at Clark, because it is so little understood in the US.

There are so few schools offering undergraduate degrees in Geography. Since then I've traveled the world and become a professor.

Same GPA, same test scores, completely different results. Parents, make your kid show the school they actually want to be there. It matters.
